Ultraviolet is the default engine and the most reliable. Scramjet is an alternative, but it is still unstable. Tidewave is Tide's own engine and is still experimental.
Tidewave is Tide's own engine and it's experimental. It's newer and less tested than Ultraviolet, so some sites may not work or may behave oddly. If a site breaks, switch back to Ultraviolet.
A new engine applies to new navigations and reloads. Open tabs keep the engine they started with.
Use %s where the search words go.
Alt+H leaves Tide straight away and opens this site in the same browser tab. Back skips over Tide. With "Reopen my tabs" on, your tabs are waiting when you come back.
Tide's server fetches site icons from DuckDuckGo using the site's address.

Play right in Tide. Games load straight from Tide's server, no proxy engine needed. Star the ones you like to keep them at the top.

Bring your own domain
Got a domain? Point it at Tide and it becomes another address for Tide, with its own HTTPS. Handy if the usual address gets blocked, or to share Tide with friends under a name you pick.
This server hasn't set up its address for this yet. Ask whoever runs it.
1. Add a DNS record
Where you manage your domain's DNS (your registrar, or Cloudflare), add this record. Use @ as the name for the whole domain, or a word like games for games.yourdomain.com.
Turn off Cloudflare's proxy. If your DNS is on Cloudflare, click the orange cloud next to the record so it turns grey ("DNS only"). With the proxy on, your domain can't get its HTTPS certificate and won't work.
Remove any other A or AAAA records with the same name, so the domain only points here.
2. Add it to your account
A domain only works once it's added to a Tide account. Adding it checks your DNS straight away, then it's approved. DNS changes can take a few minutes to show up, so check again if it isn't pointing here yet.
Your domains
3. Use it
Once it's approved, open https:// and your domain. The first visit takes a few seconds while it gets its certificate. Your account works there too: sign in again on the new address. Settings and history are kept separately for each address.
About Tide
What's running, and whether everything Tide needs is working right now.
Pages not loading on any engine, or Tide acting oddly? Repairing removes Tide's service worker and cached files, then reloads. Your tabs, bookmarks and settings are kept.
The short version: Tide doesn't keep a record of the sites you visit, your history stays in your browser, and an account is optional. The details are below. Last updated 23 October 2026.
Tide is a web proxy: when you open a site in Tide, this server fetches it for you and passes it back to your browser. Because of that, the pages you open travel through the server. This policy says what Tide does and doesn't keep.
Your browsing
Tide doesn't log which sites you visit, what you search for or what's on the pages you open. Pages pass through the server's memory only long enough to reach you.
Your history, open tabs, saved sites and settings are stored in your own browser, not on the server. You can clear history at tide://history, or clear this site's data in your browser to remove all of it.
Sites you visit through Tide see this server's address instead of yours. They can still see anything you give them, such as a login, and their own privacy policies apply to what you do on them.
Cookies and your address
tide_id: a random ID for your browser, used to share out speed fairly between browsers. It isn't linked to who you are. It lasts a year.
tide_session: keeps you signed in, if you have an account. It lasts 30 days or until you sign out.
Your IP address is used, in memory only, to limit how often things like sign-ups and password resets can be tried, and to share out speed if your browser has no tide_id. It isn't written to Tide's files.
Tide has no analytics, tracking pixels or third-party ad trackers.
Accounts
Accounts are optional. If you make one, Tide stores:
your username and a scrambled (hashed) copy of your password, never the password itself;
the sites you've saved to your new tab page, so they follow you to other devices;
any premium time and the keys you redeemed;
your email, only if you add one, used only to send password reset links;
Tide also keeps a log of account events (sign-ups, password changes and resets, redeemed keys, added domains and deleted accounts) with the username and time, so whoever runs this server can deal with abuse. It keeps the newest 5,000 entries. Signing in and browsing aren't logged.
You can delete your account at any time from tide://account. That removes everything above straight away, apart from older entries in the event log, which drop off as new ones are added.
Usage totals
For the admin page, Tide counts daily totals: data used, sign-ups, keys redeemed and the most browsers online at once. These are totals for the whole server, not about anyone in particular, and they're kept for 120 days.
Other services
Site icons: Tide's server asks DuckDuckGo's icon service for a site's icon using the site's address, not yours. You can turn icons off in tide://settings.
Email: password reset emails are sent through this server's email provider.
Games: games are loaded from the sites that host them, through Tide's server.
Ads: if this server shows ads, the pictures come from Tide itself. Clicking one opens the advertiser's site, and its privacy policy applies there. Premium accounts don't see ads.
Children
If you're under 13, or under the age your country requires for using online services on your own, don't create an account.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Big changes will also be announced in Tide.
Terms of service
Using Tide
By using Tide you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Things you mustn't do
Break the law, or use Tide to help anyone else break it.
Attack, overload, scan or try to break into this server, other sites or other people, or send spam through Tide.
Get around Tide's speed limits, bot checks or other protections, or resell access to Tide.
Use Tide to get into accounts, systems or content you aren't allowed to.
Break the rules of the network or device you're using. If your school, work or the owner of the device doesn't allow proxies, don't use Tide there.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what's done with your account. Accounts used to break these terms can be suspended or deleted.
Premium
Premium keys add premium time to an account. Premium removes ads and the speed limit. Each key works once, and premium time can't be moved to another account or swapped for money.
Other sites and games
Sites and games you open in Tide belong to other people. Tide doesn't control or check them, isn't responsible for them, and their own terms apply when you use them.
Your own domain
Only add domains you own or are allowed to use. You're responsible for how your domain is used. Domains can be blocked or removed at any time.
No guarantees
Tide is provided as it is, without any promise that it will work, stay online or suit what you want it for. Some sites won't work through it. As far as the law allows, whoever runs Tide isn't responsible for any loss or damage from using it.
Changes and ending
These terms can change; the date at the top shows when they last did. Tide or any part of it can change or stop at any time, and access can be removed from anyone who breaks these terms.
